Mark Kennedy Supports our Troops and Veterans
· Voted to end a century-old injustice by changing the outdated policy on concurrent receipt. Under the new law, veterans can now begin to receive both military retired pay and disability compensation.
· Worked to end the disgrace of GI’s on food stamps and increased veterans’ health spending more in his first four years in office than the Clinton administration did in its entire eight years.
· Supported expanding the scope and quality of Veterans’ healthcare services, providing new and increased benefits to disabled Veterans, like more flexible housing grants for returning wounded veterans.
· Has stood firmly against those who have attempted to undermine the values for which our military fights and our veterans have sacrificed by voting to protect our flag, keep “ Under God” in the pledge, ensure our Boy Scouts are welcomed in our schools and that protestors are not welcome at the funeral or memorial services for a fallen soldier.
· Worked to secure $4 million in grants for the St. Cloud VA Ambulatory Center.
· Has visited our troops in Iraq every year since 2003, and is dedicated to making sure they have the necessary equipment to win the war and return safely to a grateful nation.
· Has awarded over 200 Jubilee Medals to honor veterans who served in the Battle of Normandy and helped many other veterans receive the recognition they deserve.
